How the farm works

Ant Farm is a live pixel ant colony in a glass tank. Every $ANT buy drops ants in, every sell walks ants out, and the colony digs its own tunnels in between.

Buys and sells

The colony is wired to $ANT trades on pump.fun, and to PumpSwap after the coin bonds. Each trade moves ants in or out of the tank.

  • A buy drops new ants in from the top. They land on the grass, walk to the entrance and head down into the tunnels.
  • A sell picks ants already in the colony. They turn pale, climb back up to the surface and walk off the edge of the tank.

Bigger trades move more ants:

Trade sizeAnts in or out
Under 0.5 SOL1
0.5 SOL or more3
1 SOL or more5
2 SOL or more10
5 SOL or more25
10 SOL or more50

The colony never drops below 5 ants. Somebody has to stay home.

Every trade shows up on the little TV on the desk:

> trades.log 21:12 BUY +3 0.62 SOL 21:10 BUY +50 12 SOL 21:07 SELL -1 0.10 SOL 20:58 CHAMBER #9 DUG

Digging and chambers

Nobody tells the ants where to dig. About a third of them are diggers. They pick a direction, chew through the dirt a little at a time, and branch off when they feel like it. Deeper dirt is harder, so deep tunnels take longer.

After a long dig, a worker carries its dirt back up and drops it on the pile by the entrance. That mound grows over the life of the coin. Ants you see with a light speck on their head are carrying dirt.

Now and then a digger hollows out a chamber, a wider room off the tunnel. The chamber count on the orange poster is a running total.

More ants means faster digging. A busy colony visibly changes in an afternoon. A quiet one creeps along.

Cave-ins sells hurt

Tunnels need ants walking through them. When the colony shrinks and has more tunnel than it can use, passages nobody has visited in a while start to fill back in with dirt, from the dead ends inward.

Cave-ins never cut the colony in half. Only the far ends of unused tunnels collapse, so every ant can always find its way home.

A bad week leaves scars. A good week opens them back up.

Tank expansions 60% dug

When the ants have dug out 60% of the tank, it gets bigger. Every tunnel moves into a larger tank with fresh dirt on every side, and the ants keep going. There are three tank levels. The sticky note on the TV shows the current level.

Level 1The starter tank
Level 21.5× wider and deeper
Level 32× the starter tank, the max

Once the biggest tank is 60% dug, digging slows way down, so the colony doesn't hollow out the whole tank.

The room

  • Orange poster: ants in the colony, how much of the tank is dug, and chambers.
  • Purple poster: days since launch.
  • TV: live trade log, plus new chambers, cave-ins and expansions.
  • Window: follows your own clock. Dawn, day, dusk and night, and the sky inside the tank matches.
  • Keyboard: the buy key opens $ANT on pump.fun.

One colony for everyone

The tunnels live on the Ant Farm server, not in your browser. Everyone who opens the site sees the same tank, the same chambers and the same ant count. The colony keeps digging when nobody is watching and is saved, so it's never reset.

Your browser animates the individual ants walking around, so two people won't see every ant in exactly the same spot. The tunnels, the dirt pile and the count are always the same for everyone.

FAQ

Can I control the ants?

No. Your trades decide how many ants there are. What they do with their day is up to them.

What happens if nobody trades?

The ants keep living and digging, slowly. Nothing is lost.

Why did my ant go pale?

A sell picked it to leave. Pale ants are on their way out of the farm.

Does the colony ever reset?

No. Before launch the site ran a demo colony. The real colony was founded at launch and is saved from then on.

Is this financial advice?

No. $ANT is a memecoin about ants digging tunnels. It has no promised value. Only spend what you're fine losing.
